The Centre of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (HDZ) at the University of St.Gallen serves the sustainable development and assurance of the teaching quality.
The following must be taken into consideration in this context:
- Students expect high-quality teaching and state this in their assessments of classes.
- The range of courses taught at different levels (Assessment, Bachelor, Master) make higher demands on lecturers’ teaching techniques and skills – as do the different methods of examination used at the corresponding levels.
- New knowledge gained from research on teaching and theories about assessing students necessitates greater use of new media as well as new ways of lecturing, and thus also the reviewing and updating of teaching knowledge and skills.
- Internationally, universities are placing greater emphasis on lecturers attaining teaching qualifications.
We support you in meeting these and similar challenges with our continuing education events, the Certificate Programme in University Teaching and Learning, as well as our Teaching Analysis Poll.
The HDZ consists of a team of teaching and learning experts with different disciplinary backgrounds. We will find the ideal match for your needs.
