Explore the art of effective teaching and learning in higher education through our immersive course. On the first day, we will uncover the impact of attitudes, perspectives, and convictions on teaching and learning by analyzing, reflecting, and discussing video sequences of the participant’s teaching. The aim is to become more explicitly aware of various influencing factors and to be able to describe the main features of your own teaching concept.
On the second day, based on your teaching experiences, you will gain essential pedagogical insights, equipping you to create impactful teaching and learning experiences based on solid theoretical foundations. After the course you will apply this knowledge by planning your own course.

Thursday, June 20, 2024: Video sequences
Based on the analysis of course’s participants video sequences and course descriptions we will exchange, reflect, and discuss influencing factors of teaching and learning scenarios.
Friday, June 21, 2024: Inputs, tips, and tricks
You will receive theoretical inputs, tips, and tricks to be able to create impactful teaching and learning experiences.
The course is based on a blended learning format:
You will receive a certificate of attendance for this crash course. Following this course, Module 1 CAS Hochschuldidaktik - Teaching and Learning in Higher Education can be completed.
You will have the opportunity to write down your experiences and insights in the form of a short reflection (1 to 2 pages) after the Crash Course. In this case, you will be credited with 1 ECTS towards the CAS Hochschuldidaktik - Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in Module 1 or Module 2 (corresponds to 4 elective courses).

is Professor of Business Education and Director of the Institute for Business Education at the University of St.Gallen. She studied business administration and business education. She trains prospective teachers in management, economics, and law. As the academic head of HDZ-HSG (Centre of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education at the University St.Gallen), she is responsible for the didactic offers at the HSG and advises and supports teaching faculty.
completed a commercial apprenticeship and then studied economics at the University of Basel. Since February 2021, he has been employed at the Institute for Business Education as a research assistant and doctoral candidate.
studied Business Administration at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) in the Bachelor and completed the Master in Management, Organization and Culture. She has been working at the Institute for Business Education (IWP) since 2022 and has been a doctoral candidate on the topic of mindfulness-based interventions in high school since February 2023.
