Course Description

This workshop explores how to design and implement effective student-centered learning environments (SCLEs) that foster deeper learning outcomes. Rooted in empirical research on teaching effectiveness, the course will provide instructors with strategies and tools to engage students actively, stimulate critical thinking, and enhance motivation. Participants will reflect on their own teaching practices, discuss challenges, and develop concrete action plans for applying student-centered methods in their courses.

          PD Dr. Sabine Hoidn

          PD Dr. Sabine Hoidn (PhD in business education; Venia Legendi in educational sciences, particularly higher education), is a Senior Researcher and Horizon Europe Project leader SSH at the University of St.Gallen, Seminar for Sociology SfS-HSG, as well as a Lecturer in higher education at Universities in Switzerland and abroad.

          Details

          For employees of the University of St.Gallen, the course fee is covered by the University. External participants will be charged CHF 600.- for the two-day course.

          The face-to-face courses take place on the campus of the University of St.Gallen. The exact course location will be announced after registration about one week before the course starts.
